Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga concentrates on awakening the serpent at the bottom of your spine.
The more you progress the farther the snake moves through the different chakra in the spine, and the closer you come to complete awareness. It is not recommended to practice kundalini without an instructor, as incorrectly practicing it can lead to serious damage to the body or irregularities in life.
The awakening of the kundalini is said to lead to various pleasurable and less pleasurable experiences. Some of the more pleasurable experiences include tickling sensations up the spinal cord, bursts of joy and perhaps even transcendental visions. (more…)
Hi everybody
This time, we’ve been working about fashion for teenagers. We’ve tried to decide what was our favourite outfit for this winter. Here are four presentations; We hope you’ll let us know what you think about fashion and what your fashion is in your country….
Hi everyone,
we are Fabio and Ganriel, aged 14, from grade 1E, wishing to speak about our future plans.
“Hi, I’m Ganriel,
I’m a student at I.T.I. Marconi in Italy.
I want to carry on my first and second years in this school, and after I will attend the Electronics or Computer Science corses.
After I get my certificate, I wish to enrol at the army academy and after I’d like to join the Italian army.
My dream is to become a colonel.”
Thank you for tour attention to Ganriel. Now we will talk about Fabio.
“Hi there! I’m Fabio, I go to school with Ganriel. My dream is to be postgraduate in Chemistry or Electronics.
If I postgraduate in Chemistry I’d like to enrol at the Italian C.S.I. (R.I.S.), otherwise if I postgraduate in electronics, I’d like to work as a Dj in my “future” pub, and record some hip hop songs.”
Thanks to have listened to Fabio as well.
… so European mates, what about your future plans?
In Finland the summer cottage has always been a matter of great importance. Many Finnish families have a cottage of their own. Before it was a modest house without running water or electricity. It means that if you wanted to drink coffee, take a bath or make some food you had to walk hundreds of meters to get water. Everybody was happy and days spent at the cottage were the highlights of the years.
Nowadays our life has changed but still cottage life and going to the sauna are typical of Finnish people. Now we have water and electricity to make our cottages pleasant and we have good roads to travel quickly and of course we swim in a hole made in a frozen lake. It means that a cottage is like a house where we can spend our holidays in winter too.
Finns and potatoes….
The last time I wrote an article for this site, I wrote about something sacred to Finnish society: I wrote about saunas. This time I’m writing about something the Finns are obsessed with. When you go to lunch in Finland, you get potatoes almost every time. We may just have meatballs with our potatoes, and some kind of sauce. But no doubt, we will have potatoes. We eat potatoes fried or boiled. We eat potatoes in soup. We eat them mashed. And we eat them 5 to 7 times a week. Even though I’m a Finn, I can’t understand the potato-enthusiasm most of us share. Seriously, you’d think that people would get sick of eating potatoes every day of the year. I at least experience a bit frustration due to all of these potatoes.
Yet, as a visiting friend from abroad pointed out, potato chips are a dying breed in Finland. We only have two major brands making potato chips in Finland. Not much competition. Lack of potato chips doesn’t really shake the balance of potatoes here though. (more…)
I wish to restore a better public opinion about my favourite village, Méounes, that’s why I’m writing this entry. (more…)
In this presentation I try to analyse the nature of racism and the way is is widespeading in our society and leading to slaughterings. Too sad a topic, I know, but we should discuss it!
Hello, We are the students of the second form. Recently, we were talking about the youth generation and its own culture ( music, dance, fashion etc.) and how it differs from the culture of the adult generation. That is what we call ‘generation gap’. We collected the results of the discussion in the presentation.
