I’d like to tell you about my summer holidays. Last July I went to Australia where I spent five weeks and I saw many beautiful places, but now I want to describe Sydney City.
Sydney is a town of New-South-Wales in Australia. It’s a cosmopolitan town, infact there are Chinese, Muslin, Indian, Japanese, Italian, and Lebanese people; the latter are the greatest number. On the first day in Sydney I went to the Circular Quay that is the area where there are The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanic Garden, the Museum of Contemporary Art. (more…)

Three years ago I spent the most exciting holiday of my life: I went to Ibiza with my family for a week.
Ibiza is a famous island. It lies in the Mediterranean Sea and is big enough.

There the weather is really hot and during our holiday it was sunny and warm every day.

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic engagement in ‘Ice-breaker’s sites. This year we are working at new strength so it is time we introduced some innovations. Here they are:

• I am going to activate a new section called ‘Culture Clash’. Every month, apart from their regular publications, participating schools will prepare a short article on a given topic and will submit it to Administrator. We will collect them and prepare a cross-cultural presentation. I suggest the December topic ‘Christmas recipes’. Please send us ONE recipe for the dish which you think represents your national tradition. Photos, cartoons or even music are welcome. You can send a ready-made page in Power Point. If you submit your work by 10th Dec, you will contribute to the December issue of Culture Clash.
• Every article has got a place for a comment. Please write your opinion, make you students do it once they have read one. That is also very important for those who have written the article.
• Please make your students log in on the magazine forum and chat. Let them meet there out of school and make friends.
• The teachers are also asked to register on Forum . There is a hidden corner for us-only let me know what your nickname is ( on my mail) and you will get a password. I must admit, I has been rarely used so far. We still prefere our mail boxes.
• Those who countinue the partnership and the newcomers as well - may I ask you to submit a few words about the project in ‘Progress Card’ on Etwinning. This year it is ‘Ice-breaker 2’.

I am waiting for your comments, especially what you think about that cross-cultural section.What shall we do in January? Carnival fasion ? Ask your students – ‘Ice-breaker’ is formed by them.

Hello, I am Alessandra . I teach English in an Italian secondary school in Monfalcone, a small town in the north-east of Italy. In my school there are about 500 students and 54 teachers ( five of us teach English).
I am happy Marta invited me to join your project because I think it is both highly motivating for young people, who can here share information about their own cultures and make new friends from other European countries, but also for us teachers because we have the opportunity to exchange experiences, ideas and opinions about issues that are relevant to us.

In our group, we’ve been talking about the idea of changing or not our body through cosmetic surgery. Here are some of the opinions expressed. But what do other Europeans students think about that?
