My friend Mattia and me have chosen to talk about pollution, because we think people don’t fully know how unmanageable the situation is getting. Whit this presentation we would like to discuss how we could tackle the problem. A positive action in this direction could be the use of renewable energy. Let’s start with getting acquainted with the different types of renewable energy!

Hello, my name is Guillemette, I’m 16 and I want to do something for tomorrow’s world. I would like to become a member of an association like WWF to protect the environment ( trees and animals…) I think that WWF is the best association in the world. WWF have different actions which are : the agriculture and aquaculture; the climate change ; conservation finance ; educating future leaders , forest conservation ; ocean rescue, health, toxic chemicals, wildlife, trade and pollution.
The association has 4.7 million members in the world but it isn’t enough. it is present in 96 countries with 12,000 programmes to protect nature. The message of WWF is ” for a living planet”. the WWF have a help from the local communities, governments, international organizations and non governmental organizations.
In France, the WWF want to protect the River of the Loire, protect dolphins and whales in the Mediterranean Sea.
In the world WWF want to fight the trade of endangered species, protect the tortoises in Guyana and protect the forests against deforestation.
I want to help the WWF to do what I can. But if everybody does actions the planet earth will be saved. I’m sceptical but we can try. We can upgrade the planet’s health a little. If like me, you want to take action, we can go on the WWF website and sign petitions. it’s a first step to start.

Swedish endangered species – Lynx

Facts
The lynx is Sweden’s answer to the tiger, but the lynx is much smaller than the big tiger. The normal weight of the lynx is about 16 – 25 kilos, and the length is usually about one meter and the height normally 60 – 75cm. These facts are based on a full-grown lynx.
The lynx is very endangered here in Sweden and the scientists believe that we have about 1500 lynxes here in our country, but they don’t only exist here in Sweden, they exist all over Europe and totally there are over 40 000 lynxes all over Europe. (more…)

Greenpeace is an international organization working for the environment, which started in Canada at 1971. It started as a protest against nuclear weapon tests in Alaska.
2, 5 million members around the world, support Greenpeace and together they are promoting the organization with 1 billion a year. They are depending of sponsor money or gifts that private people have given to them. (more…)

I am going to write about the Swedish nature in general, for example we have four seasons spring, summer, autumn and winter.

When the spring are the snow is starting to melt away and everything is starting to grow and become green. And the sun is starting to shine and warm. In the spring we have some thing called Easter and that is very nice, I like it. Kids are searching for candy in the forest and you paint eggs in very many different colours.
I think that the spring is very nice when the birds start to sing and you are starting to see that it will soon be summer. (more…)

Slowinski National Park was established in January 1967.
The total area of the Park is 190 sq km. Water covers 54%, forests 24,5%, beaches and dunes 5 %, swamps and moors 8 %, meadows and pastures 8%
The number of visitors reaches up to 800,000 annually.
